Our Story
Shepherd Tech began though our own passion and pursuit of better genetics, animal health, sheep industry & production.

Matt was born into the sheep world with multi-generational sheep farm near Horsham, Victoria. Matt’s personal stud, Aurora Park, boasts a combined 60 year breeding program which has produced some of Australia’s strongest commercial lines of Hampshires. Aurora Park’s genetics can be traced back to the prestigious Shapwick Flock in Dorset, United Kingdom (est. 1834) and Aurora Park’s genetics can now be found in majority of Hampshire Studs throughout Australia.
Matt could be described as a sheep genetic and bloodline encyclopedia, agonising over his crosses to make the perfect sheep and flock with genetic variation and performance.
Matt’s stud is the longest running performance recording Hampshire Down flock with Sheep Genetics (Lambplan) joining in their founding year.
Sam has always been animal focused and could be found saving animals from a very young age, often bringing the infant rabbits, lambs, pigeons and budgies to school for necessary raising purposes. Now, that has translated into the health sciences of both humans and animals resulting in the attempt to save every single lamb on the property.
Sam owns and directs multiple (human) health clinics around Victoria.
Shepherd Tech was developed through our combined passions for sheep, the development of the industry and to increase access of the genetic-advancing rewards of artificial insemination to the sheep community. Our AI services are a natural progression of our high quality breeding work.
